About

Described as ‘a candid chronicler in the narrative landscape of contemporary young adult fiction’; Medical doctor and ophthalmologist AH Mohammed was previously shortlisted for the Macmillan Write for Africa prize and his much loved YA novella ‘The Last Days at Forcados High School’ has been on the UTME/DE required reading in Nigeria.

A University of Lagos trained medical doctor and ophthalmologist, he considers YA literature to be surprisingly under-represented in the recent canon of Naija’s belles-lettres. He desires to expand that niche by writing (fiction and non-fiction), giving talks, school education, screenplays/dramas and of course the media.

His writings deal with diverse issues affecting children, adolescents and young adults in all their complexities, joys and sorrows.

Always on the search for answers – and more questions.

He is always delighted to meet with you.
